USB Ports
First of all, USB is an acronym for Universal Serial Bus. The USB port is a medium that allows data from objects to have a gateway into computers. This fact is the same for data from computers needing a way into other devices, as well. It acts like a crossing bridge for data between computers and separate objects. USB ports do this through the assistance of cables and cords, of course. All in all, it makes data transfer between computers and other objects possible. The functionality of the USB port works in a process that consists of the operating system managing the data that is received from separate mobile objects in co-operation with the driver disk. The data then becomes activated. This process is all done to transfer data between locations. The purpose of the USB port is to give computer users the ability to connect objects like computer mice, printers, music devices, phones and flash drives to computers in order to transfer data. USB ports are important for end users to consider because of their capabilities of connecting external devices (like mice) to computers, which is needed in order for students to work on school assignments. An example of this claim would be a student pulling their computer out of the box for the first time and immediately trying to connect their mouse to the computer so that they can begin their school work only to figure out that it is impossible because of the computer's lack of a USB port. This example would be bad because school work is virtually impossible to work on without a way to direct actions on the monitor. In the end, no USB port means no wired mouse, which means no completed assignment. Accordingly, this means a very upset student. Nobody wants to deal with a situation like this. The specifications for the USB port that students should look for when buying a computer include atleast two USB ports. If you want, consider a laptop with three USB ports to have even more device connections to use. Also, look for at least USB 2.0 that has 480 Mbps.
